Breakout Earns LTI Advantage Certification

We're excited to announce that Breakout Learning has earned certification from the 1EdTech® Consortium for Learning Tools Interoperability® (LTI®) Advantage. This milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to giving educators and learners a secure, frictionless experience as they bring Breakout Learning into their existing learning management systems.

What LTI Advantage Means for Our Users

LTI Advantage builds on 1EdTech's LTI 1.3 standard, which uses the most secure protocols available for integrating third-party tools with a learning management system (LMS). In practical terms, this certification means:

  • Single sign-on (SSO), simplified. Educators and students can move from their LMS directly into Breakout Learning without juggling a separate username and password.
  • Stronger security by default. LTI 1.3 relies on modern, security-first standards for authentication and data exchange, replacing older, less secure integration methods.
  • Fewer logins, less friction. With SSO in place, faculty and students spend less time managing credentials and more time on coursework and discussion.

Why This Matters for Higher Education

Colleges and universities increasingly expect the tools they adopt to integrate cleanly with the systems they already run — Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace, Moodle, and others. Achieving LTI Advantage certification signals to IT teams, procurement offices, and faculty that Breakout Learning meets the industry's bar for secure, interoperable integration, and it removes a common barrier to adoption during technical review and vendor evaluation.
