Breakout Learning has been named a finalist in the 2024 Edison Awards. The company is being honored in the Education category for its AI-powered learning format. The Edison Awards™, named after the American inventor Thomas Alva Edison, recognizes some of the most innovative products and business leaders in the world including Steve Jobs, Gwynne Shotwell, Ginni Rometty and Lanzatech, Apple and Lockheed Martin. This prestigious accolade honors excellence in new product and service development, marketing, human centered design and innovation.

Breakout Learning delivers engaging educational content to students in online breakout rooms and then prompts small-group discussions which are moderated and graded by AI. The output gives instructors valuable insights into student preparation and commentary, leading to engaging and powerful classroom discussions. 

Launched only six months ago, the company’s modern take on the case study method is now in use at more than half of the top-20 business schools according to the U.S. News rankings. Over 90% of students have expressed a preference for Breakout Learning's case study format over traditional methods.

All nominations are reviewed by the Edison Awards’ Steering Committee and an executive judging body. The panel is comprised of more than 2,000 senior business executives and academics from the fields of product development, design, engineering, science, marketing and education, as well as past winners.
