Part 3: The Breakout Experience
- Join or Create Your Group
(If your assignment uses automatic or instructor-led grouping, you can skip ahead to step 2.)
Click Join Group.
There may be empty pre-created groups that you can join and rename. If not, click Start a New Group and name it for others to easily find. To change your group, click Leave Group , and repeat the steps above to join or create a new group.
- Schedule Your Group’s Session
Coordinate with your group through the chat to agree on a date/time for your session.
(Note: Your instructor may pre-schedule a time for your group to meet.)
Once decided, any group member can schedule the session by clicking Edit Group. Any group member can make changes later, if needed. Possible dates may be limited by your professor. - Before your scheduled time, complete the pre-work and quiz under Step 2
If applicable, pre-work and/or quiz is under Course Materials.
- At your scheduled meeting time, re-open your assignment from the home screen.
If any of your group are missing, consider waiting five minutes. If they still have not arrived, feel free to proceed. - You're ready to join your session!
Hit 'Join Session' under Step 3.
*If your group does a Breakout session in the same physical space, each member must use an individual device with headphones or earbuds. Please mute your mic when not speaking for best results.
